Best Robot Vacuum and Mop in 2024
When it comes to cleaning the floor, you have tools to make your life easier. On one side, you have two devices – a robot mop and a robot vacuum. On the other side, you only need one piece of equipment – a hybrid robot vacuum-mop combo.
The hybrid type are robots that work like a vacuum cleaner and a mop at the same time.
Why Choose a Vacuum-Mop Combo?
With its distinction alone, you will know why a robot-mop combo can be a better choice than stand-alone devices.
First, this robot cleaner is very convenient to buy one tool instead of two. Second, getting one piece of equipment can save you more money than buying each tool separately.
It also means that you can save time and electricity because you will only need one tool to do the work of two. Lastly, a compact robot vacuum-mop can easily be towed away and tucked in a small space for storage. This tool is super handy, especially if you live in a small house.
But how about its cleaning performance?
After testing both designs, we found that many robot vacuum mops clean and stand-alone equipment. Depending on the brand, some hybrid models even outdo the regular robot vacuums and mops in terms of cleaning performance. They effectively loosen up and suck pet hairs (just think about your dirty dogs), wastes, dust, and other small particles.
Some can even climb the stairs and vacuum carpets as well. It removes the necessity to bring a dirty bucket of water around. Overall, it cleans faster and easier to prevent dust effects. As long as you pick the suitable model for your floor, a combo type is a game-changer in how you clean the floor.
What to Look for In a Robot Vacuum-Mop
When choosing a robot vacuum-mop, always consider its functionality, ease of use, floor mapping, and independence. Like extended battery life, some features are always better, but many will come down to personal preference.
Functionality
Choose a portable and lightweight brand since it is more helpful in cleaning up spills on the counter or your car. A model that syncs to your smartphone or voice commands eliminates the need for your constant supervision.
Floor Type
It’s also crucial to consider the kind of floor surface you have. Some vacuum mops are designed to clean hard floors, while others can clean hard surfaces and carpets. Some can vacuum and steam mop floors, while the rest can only do the regular mopping. Check the labels and read online reviews to see what the product can and can’t do.
Corded vs. Cordless
A corded vacuum may be difficult since you have to be conscious of the cables and limit the distance you can cover. Although you can use an extension cord to expand the length, it is still inconvenient, and your kids can trip off over it.
On the other hand, Cordless vacuums are more convenient but have shorter battery life. Thus, a corded vacuum saves you from having to charge between cleanings.
Two Water Tanks
Having two tanks is a great feature since it guarantees you’re not cleaning your floor with unclean water. Unfortunately, a twin water tank is hard to find in a portable device.
Cleaning Procedure
Some vacuum-mop models have a self-cleaning option that frees you from cleaning those grimy brush rollers. However, this option does not eliminate the necessity to empty the vacuum and wash the mop. You also have to empty and clean the water tank, filters, and other components.
Some cleaners have machine washable, while others have disposable pads. Some mops recommend using a cleaning solution instead of water. Again, these details are subject only to your lifestyle and liking but not really mandatory.
Best Robot Vacuum-Mop Combo in 2024
Roborock S7+
The S7+ vacuums well, with enhanced suction for cleaning the carpets. The robot employs “Sonic Mopping,” a feature that rapidly vibrates the mopping pad (the company claims 3,000 vibrations per minute) to break up dirt. This couldn’t handle crusted dirt or oily spills in our tests, but it did well for the “high intensity mopping” option for improved spot cleaning.
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra
This model combines the Roborock S7 MaxV robot vacuum and the Ultra self-cleaning docking station. MaxV Ultra is a next-generation house cleaning system that can compete with the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni.
After initially setting up your S7 MaxV Ultra, you shouldn’t have to deal with it again until you need to fill or replace tanks in the docking station. This means that you can leave it alone for weeks at a time.
Bissell SpinWave
Bissell’s SpinWave uses two spinning pads, which perform better than other models’ usual flat mop. The SpinWave effectively removes grime and spatter stains on the kitchen floor while leaving no traces on the hardwood flooring.
Unlike the other robots, the SpinWave uses a cleaning solution in the water tank. The company includes a trial-size bottle of multi-surface floor cleaner in the package. You can buy other floor-and task-specific formulations from their store.
Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni
No one needs a $1,500 robot home cleaner, right? Spending that much on a robot that can’t even wash your dishes or bring you a drink is not logical.
But Deebot X1 Omni is the best of a new generation of robots. Its powerful AI object identification and laser mapping are accurate, and it provides the most hands-off user experience. Combine it with a strong vacuuming and mopping performance auto-empty docking station that cleans the mop pads and refills the water tank. You will know that the price is justified.
iRobot Braava Jet m6
The iRobot Braava Jet m6 adds Wi-Fi and many innovative capabilities, which make it under the category of an advanced Roomba vacuum. This model has a larger water tank, so you don’t have to fill it as frequently. The tank is also see-through, so you will know when it needs to be refilled. But it performs equally to the less expensive Braava Jet 240 when it comes to mopping.
Final Words
Choosing a robot vacuum-mop combo has many benefits over a stand-alone vacuum and mop. But picking the suitable model is dependent on your floor type, size, cleaning requirements, and other lifestyle circumstances (pets, kids, work, etc.)
